FROM REGISTRY TO RUN DIRECTORY

Fetch locally.
Set up an example.

Choose a project from the registry, create an empty directory, and work locally with its pinned source and DIPL layer. The project page lists available examples, prerequisites, and supported commands.

BEFORE YOU START

Download a precompiled snt executable from SNT3 releases ↗ (this Hub supports v0.9.3). Check it with snt --version; see the Hub CLI guide ↗.

One workspace, one projectGENERAL SNT HUB WORKFLOW
snt hub list # Find a project ID in the live registry
mkdir my-study && cd my-study  # Create a local workspace
snt hub fetch PROJECT # Get the pinned source and DIPL layer
snt hub examples # List available examples
snt hub info # Inspect source and integration revisions
snt hub setup EXAMPLE # Generate this example's inputs
snt hub build # Build the code if supported
snt hub run --setup runs/EXAMPLE # Run the prepared example if supported

Replace PROJECT and EXAMPLE with IDs from the registry. To change values, pass --override-file tuning.dip to the setup command; the parameter reference shows available paths. Build and run are available where the project declares them. A build tied to generated inputs needs --setup runs/EXAMPLE, and an inputs-only recipe needs --inputs-only at setup.

05PROJECTS LISTED
ARPROJECT / AREPO

Arepo

A massively parallel code for gravitational N-body and hydrodynamics simulations, including cosmological setups.

Scope, evidence & limitations

DIPL models and native input generation for the 16 bundled examples in the pinned public Arepo source.

Locally verified on 2026-10-10 with SNT3 0.9.3: 47 Arepo tests and 21 subtests passed against the pinned source, including recorded output plans. The mhd_shock_tube build and smoke run completed on macOS on 2026-10-09. Scientific-result validation and other platforms remain separate checks.

This is an external native-file adapter, not direct SNT3 integration in Arepo. Active settings are compared for bundled examples; comments, ordering, and file bytes are outside that comparison. The local build/run hook completed one mhd_shock_tube smoke run on macOS; other examples, platforms, and physical simulation results are not validated. Upstream endorsement is not established.

LAPROJECT / LAMMPS

LAMMPS

A classical molecular dynamics code; this Hub bundle models four self-contained Lennard-Jones examples covering bulk, minimization, and driven channel flow.

Scope, evidence & limitations

DIPL input generation for the pinned examples/melt/in.melt, examples/min/in.min, examples/flow/in.flow.couette, and examples/flow/in.flow.pois scripts.

Twelve adapter tests passed on 2026-10-11. Active commands match all four pinned upstream examples. Local serial smoke runs covered the two original examples; the flow examples are parity-tested but have not had smoke runs. Scientific-result validation is not claimed.

This independent external adapter covers four self-contained Lennard-Jones examples, not the LAMMPS input language or package catalogue. The local build and two original-example smoke runs do not establish scientific validation for the flow cases, other-platform support, or upstream endorsement.

OPPROJECT / OPENFOAM

OpenFOAM

An open-source computational fluid dynamics toolkit; this Hub bundle demonstrates ten pinned tutorial cases with reusable control, discretization, solver, and physics parameter groups.

Scope, evidence & limitations

DIPL overrides for selectable OpenFOAM v2606 build configuration and selected system/controlDict controls, system/fvSchemes defaults, system/fvSolution coupling and linear-solver tolerances, and selected constant/ physical properties across ten tutorial cases. Setup emits a manual build profile but does not build the solver. Unmodeled native files and entries are staged from the pinned source unchanged.

Eighteen adapter tests passed locally on 2026-10-11 against the pinned OpenFOAM v2606 source. Tests compare modeled controlDict, fvSchemes, fvSolution, and physical-property values, verify other case files are staged byte-for-byte, exercise runtime and build-setting overrides, verify tagged build/runtime discovery, and replay a recorded output plan; the generated build profile passes a shell syntax check, but solver builds and simulation results have not been checked.

This adapter exposes selectable build configuration plus selected time/output controls, default finite-volume schemes, pressure-velocity coupling and linear solver stopping controls, and physical properties from representative tutorial cases. It does not yet model all fvSolution settings, geometry and mesh controls, or initial and boundary field values. Other native entries are preserved from the pinned tutorials. Setup is native-inputs-only; the generated build profile is not compile-tested, and build, execution, generated meshes, and scientific outputs are not verified. No OpenFOAM maintainer endorsement is implied.

QUPROJECT / QUANTUM-ESPRESSO

Quantum ESPRESSO

An open-source suite for electronic-structure calculations; this Hub bundle models the pinned PWscf regression inputs.

Scope, evidence & limitations

Reusable DIPL schemas and native pw.x generation for all 27 inputs in the pinned test-suite/pw_scf directory: SCF, NSCF, and bands cases.

On 2026-10-09, all 27 generated inputs matched pinned PWscf regression references under a semantic comparison; 36 project tests passed. A pinned pw.x build and si_scf smoke run completed on macOS. Scientific-result validation is not claimed.

The scope is the 27 pinned PWscf regression inputs, not all pw.x features or other QE executables. Twenty-five recipes need pseudopotentials or preceding workflow state and are native-inputs-only. A local macOS build and si_scf smoke run completed, but other platforms and scientific results are not validated. This independent adapter has no QE maintainer endorsement.

WRPROJECT / WRF

WRF

The Weather Research and Forecasting model; this Hub bundle covers ten pinned idealized meteorology cases.

Scope, evidence & limitations

Selected DIPL controls and native-input staging for ten WRF v4.8.0 idealized examples, spanning 2D, 3D, and global configurations.

Generated namelists and staged source assets match ten pinned WRF v4.8.0 idealized examples. Build, execution, and scientific outputs have not been checked; every recipe is native-inputs-only.

This independent adapter models selected controls in ten idealized WRF cases; LES, SCM, fire, real-data, and ESMF coupling families are outside its current scope. Unmodeled namelist entries are retained from the pinned source. Staged inputs are not a complete WRF runtime directory; build, ideal.exe, wrf.exe, external data assets, and scientific results remain unverified. No upstream maintainer endorsement is implied.
